Artwork + Direction for
Interactive Touchscreens

2013-2015

ORGANIZATION   Kahramaa Awareness Park, Doha Qatar
TYPE   Interactive Exhibit Design

POSITION   In-house Graphic Designer at MCM Group
PROJECT ROLE   Interactive Storyboarder/ Artwork Designer
SOFTWARE   Illustrator, Photoshop

BACKGROUND

Created vector artwork used in 21 games, quizzes, and interactive touchscreens. The interactive pieces have a consistent tone, feel and voice, to bring alive the story of the KAP characters. The exhibits demonstrate lessons through the games, quizzes, or interactive kiosks, helping to intuitively solidify concepts.

Created style guides and closely communicated with teams, to standardize the visual and experiential elements.

Collaborated with an interactive agency in China, to conceptualize, produce, test, and install all the touchscreen interactive games and quizzes for the museum exhibits and experiences for the Kahramaa Awareness Park (KAP) in Doha, Qatar. All exhibits and experiences were in Arabic and English.

Taking Cloe Yun’s lead, took the scripts and provided visual and interactive instructions (storyboarding) for the 3D and interactive designers/programmers, collaborating with our illustrator to draw 2D poses that our 3D animators rendered for the software. We reviewed, provided visual elements and feedback to our vendors.

“MCM Group won the international tender from the Qatar National Electric and Water Agency to design and build the interactive exhibitions and attractions for this futuristic educational exploratorium promoting sustainable living practices. Attractions include a 3D dome theater, interactive exhibits, an educational dark ride, and a host of dynamic features incorporating digital and dancing fountains, augmented reality exhibits, and a visitor tracking and reward system.” – MCM Group’s website.
